When children were playing in the theme corners in the morning, I found a child who was not happy and sat alone.

I went up to her and squatted down and asked her: "Honey, is there something wrong?"

She told me: "Grandma is not feeling well and is sick again. It is very sad to see grandma feel uncomfortable."

After that, I found that she was so thoughtful and considerate. I comforted her not to worry so much. Grandma will be good in a few days because she is old and easy to get sick. When you grow up, you should take good care of your grandma and be filial. Grandma will be happy every day and will no longer be sick.

She nodded, looked at the ground and thought for a moment, then happily went to play building blocks with other children.

Suddenly, another child came to me and I asked him what's up?

The child looked at me with his big eyes and said: "It's okay. I just want to come and talk to you."

I wondered why he wanted to talk to me now.

As a result, the child said: "you usually talk to us with a smile, and we all like you very much. But now you are squatting down and as tall as me, so I like you even more and I want to talk to you."

I was shocked,

It turned out that all children liked me to squat down and talk to them.

After class, I went online to check the relevant knowledge, and I saw a case.

The mother took the child to the toy store in the shopping mall. She thought the child would like it here. However, the fact was just the opposite. The child was not happy at all and even a little scared and asked to leave the place. The mother did not know why her baby who always liked toys rejected so many beautiful and fun toys?

But when she squatted down to ask the child why, she understood that from the child's height, it could only see the legs of pedestrians and some high cabinets, which was not pleasing to the eyes at all, but only very uncomfortable. However, adults cannot observe this fact due to their height.

Only then I understood that squatting down seems only a simple movement for us, but I can see the world from the perspective of children, which makes children feel treated equally. At the same time, we adults can understand what children see and think, and the starting point of their understanding of things.

It turned out that it was of such great significance to squat down and talk to them in the daily life, but I hadn't noticed these details before.

Squatting down, I learn the little girl is not happy because grandma is sick. Squatting down, the children are more willing to talk to me. And because of this movement, I understand the children's thoughts, their troubles, their demands, and the reason they are happy or unhappy.

These are exactly what we are most likely to ignore in our daily teaching activities. We should squat down at their height to understand children' world and listen to their hearts.

Project introduction:

The Qiaojia County Education Bureau commissioned the Federation for Associations Connected to the International Humana People to People Movement (Switzerland) Yunnan Representative Office to provide consulting services for the rural community preschools project in rural community preschools and set up five community preschools in Qiaojia County. The purpose of the rural community preschool project is to help poor children get rid of poverty. Set up preschool in natural villages of remote and poor areas, and transform the idle or surplus classrooms and activity rooms in local schools into classrooms. Recruit and train local preschool teachers. At the same time, set up parent committees to assist schools and projects in managing preschools. Usually, children aged 3-6 will be enrolled in the preschool to form a mixed-age class. Children in remote rural areas attending the preschool can be fully prepared to entering primary schools.
