For students of different ages, the lecture was carried out in different forms and the atmosphere was very active.

The children from kindergartens were introduced with a simple story about "polar bears losing their homes" to let children know about the dangers of climate change and ask them to think about the impact of their daily actions on climate change.

Then the vivid silhouette animation, arouse the children's awareness of animal protection, environmental protection.

By displaying the works of children from all over the world in the UNESCO "Nature and Art 2021 -- Global Art Competition for Biodiversity conservation", children will learn how other children contribute to biodiversity conservation through painting and giving voice to animals.

In the end, the children created the animals they want to protect freely through the brushes, further deepened the awareness of protecting biodiversity, and passed on the idea of participating in environmental protection to others through the means of art.

Primary school students are more likely to reflect on their own thinking about how their daily lives - in terms of food, clothing, housing and transportation - affect our planet. It gives students many opportunities to think and speak on their own initiative.

At the same time, in addition to painting Mr Xiao Huang also introduced all kinds environmental theme art works, and made the students realize that daily life garbage can be changed through their own small hands into works of art, that waste can be turned into treasure, and these waste art works can also be shown to more people and promote low-carbon life and biodiversity protection concepts.

For middle school students, Dr. Wang Xinman strengthened the knowledge of climate change and guided students to think about the factors leading to climate change and the aggravation of greenhouse effect by drawing a mind map, and further introduced the concept of carbon footprint, so as to advocate students to practice low-carbon life.

Project introduction:

Yunnan Low-carbon Schools Pilot Project is funded by the European Union and implemented by the People to People Foundation (Spanish member of HPP) in cooperation with FAIHPP (Switzerland) Yunnan Representative Office, Yunnan Academy for Science and Technical Information, Southwest Forestry University, Chinese Youth Climate Action Network, Green Kunming (Kunming Environmental Popular Science Association) and  Kunming Good Deed Public Welfare Community Development Service Center with a project cycle from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2023. The project begins by increasing partners’ awareness and advocacy on climate change mitigation and environmental protection, by raising climate change awareness among 600 schools, 70,000 students and teachers, determine the emission benchmark through basic calculation, and then implement emission reduction work in 50 Carbon Compliant Pioneer Schools. Use science, technology, innovation and other means to respond to “climate action” to accelerate environmental sustainability and promote the transition from green campuses to low-carbon and carbon-neutral campuses.
