On May 13, 2023, the volunteer team of Chongqing Branch of OCBC led by Ms. Jiang Meilu, the branch director, came to Hejiaba Village, Sanyuan Town, Fengdu County, Chongqing, with 13 members in total, to carry out the volunteer activity of "Gathering love and caring for the left-behind children in Hejiaba Village".

Hejiaba Village, located in the northwest of Sanyuan Town, Fengdu County, Chongqing, is 300-800 meters above sea level and 60 kilometers away from Fengdu County. In this village of about 2,000 people, most young people are migrant workers, while the elderly and children make up the majority of the population.

In order to actively practice corporate social responsibility, the bank went to Hejiaba Village this time to bring warmth and care to the left-behind children in the village, following the voluntary activity of visiting the left-behind elderly in Nanjiang Village together with HPP in 2021.

Before departure, Ms. Jiang Meilu, the president, said, "I visited Nanjiang Village last time to sympathize with the left-behind elderly people in the village. I was deeply impressed by the volunteer activities. Although it took a lot of time to travel, I felt that this trip was worth it immediately after I entered the farmhouse and communicated with the villagers. As a mother, I can better understand that children need the care and companionship from mom and dad in the growing process. I hope volunteer activities can do something for these children."

The volunteer team of OCBC prepared different gifts such as schoolbags, badminton sets and stationery according to the children's gender and age, and carefully labeled each gift with a child's name. In the courtyard of the village committee, the volunteers personally delivered the gift to each child, hoping that this small gift would bring them warmth.

As a token of appreciation, the children presented wild flowers they had picked.

During this visit, the volunteer team visited 4 rural households in two groups, communicated with the villagers, learned about the growth of the families and children, and gave gifts.

We would like to thank the Chongqing Branch of OCBC for its volunteer activity of "Gathering love and caring for left-behind children in Hejiaba Village" and participating in the construction of a beautiful village through community service.

Nowadays, more and more individuals, enterprises and social organizations follow the pace of "rural revitalization" and take advantage of rural areas to support community development in an all-round and multi-dimensional way. HPP also actively participates in the project, actively seeks more resources, participates in the local rural revitalization through volunteer activities, project implementation and other ways, and contributes to the development of the community.
