The early winter in Tengchong is growing cold, but warmth fills the campus of Banqiao Preschool Class in Houqiao Town. On December 9, 2025, 12 employee volunteers from the German pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim, along with journalists from Shanghai Daily and China News Service, visited this preschool class funded by Boehringer Ingelheim. They were joined by Yang Shurong, Principal of Houqiao Town Central School, Michael Hermann, Chief Representative of Humana People to People China, and the Tengchong project field team. Everyone gathered together with the children to embark on a journey of love and warmth filled with public welfare.
At the beginning of the event, host Gao Huanrun extended a warm welcome to the attending guests, and representatives from various parties delivered their speeches in turn. First, Principal Yang Shurong affirmed the project's support for rural preschool education. Mr. Wang Rui, volunteer representative from Boehringer Ingelheim, shared the company's original intention in deeply engaging in public welfare: Since 2015, Boehringer Ingelheim has continuously focused on education in remote areas of Yunnan, putting corporate social responsibility into practice with concrete actions, and actively encouraging employee participation through volunteer services. Mr. Michael Hermann introduced the in-depth achievements of Humana People to People over 20 years in China's public welfare sector.
Subsequently, Mr. Wang Rui and Principal Yang Shurong jointly unveiled the class plaque for the preschool class. The volunteers then engaged in various indoor and outdoor activities with the children, enhancing their hands-on skills and creativity. Everyone played games together on the playground, gaining joy while also exercising. This small class plaque is not only a testament to the friendship between both sides but also carries expectations for the standardized development of Banqiao Preschool Class.
Next, the Boehringer team presented the children with carefully prepared "technology gifts" — story telling robots. These little companions that can help children explore knowledge made the children's eyes sparkle with curiosity and joy. Furthermore, Boehringer also donated play and teaching materials worth 5,000 RMB, including versatile combination training equipment, building blocks, magnetic tiles, and jump ropes, which combine fun and education to add color to the children's growth.

After the donation ceremony, the children and guests took group photos outdoors, capturing this warm memory. In the afternoon, the Boehringer team engaged in interactive games with the children: creating a tire plant corner, outdoor graffiti, creative crafts... Each activity was filled with laughter and joy.

This event was not merely a donation of supplies but a transmission of love. Boehringer Ingelheim demonstrated "Corporate Social Responsibility" through action, while the Humana People to People project continues to build bridges for public welfare, ensuring precise alignment between resources and needs. The children of Banqiao Preschool Class received not only brand-new toys and teaching materials this winter but also care and encouragement from all sectors of society. Although this public welfare journey has ended, the steps of love from Boehringer Ingelheim and Humana People to People will not cease. In the future, we will continue to work hand in hand to bring warmth to more children in remote areas, allowing every small dream to thrive under the nourishment of love.

Project Introduction:
The Tengchong Banqiao Preschools of the Future (POF) Project is supported by Boehringer Ingelheim (China) Investment Co., Ltd. and jointly implemented by HPP and the Tengchong Education and Sports Bureau, assisting in the execution of the "One Village, One Preschool" policy. The project focuses on early education by improving preschool classroom facilities and teaching aids, providing regular professional training for teachers, and offering ongoing supervision to address challenges in daily teaching activities. Additionally, parent committees are established to conduct training and promote home-preschool collaboration. Emphasizing play-based teaching, the project supplies tools such as teacher management kits and instructional materials to expand access to rural preschool education and enhance its quality, ensuring more children receive high-quality early learning.
