   To inherit the traditional culture of New Year's Day and build a bridge for parent-child interaction, the kindergartens supported by the Humana Tengchong Tin Ka Ping Preschools of the Future Project, including Fenghuang Kindergarten in Mingguang Town, Damanbie Kindergarten and Qinghe Kindergarten in Puchuan Township, Xintian Kindergarten in Gudong Town, and Fengyi Kindergarten in Mazhan Township, successively carried out distinctive and diverse New Year's Day parent-child activities from December 26, 2025 to December 31, 2026. These activities not only created a joyful festival atmosphere, but also empowered children's growth in sports, culture, emotion and other dimensions through parent-child cooperation and interesting experiences.

Fenghuang Kindergarten: Local Songs to Welcome the New Year

With the theme of "Local Songs to Welcome the New Year", Fenghuang Kindergarten in Mingguang Town skillfully integrated local cultural elements with interesting sports, creating a fun-filled New Year feast for children.

The activity kicked off with a solemn flag-raising ceremony and a speech by the leader. The young faces were filled with anticipation for the New Year. Subsequently, the energetic instrument exercise performance by the children showed their vigorous vitality and sportsmanship. In the parent-child sports obstacle course, teachers carefully designed games according to different age groups, so that every child could gain growth in suitable games: the "Little Kangaroo Delivering Food" and "Caterpillar Drilling Hole" for the junior class exercised the children's physical coordination and enhanced the tacit understanding between parents and children; the "Three-Legged Race with Pumpkin" and "Working Together to Peel Corn" for the middle class incorporated agricultural experiences, cultivating the children's cooperation ability and fine motor skills; the "Parent-Child Relay with a Pole" and "Blind Man Transplanting Rice Seedlings" for the senior class further strengthened the parent-child relationship through cooperation between parents and children. Finally, the activity concluded with a "New Year Wish Tree", where parents and children made their New Year wishes together.

Damanbie Kindergarten: Warm Winter Parent-Child Sports Meeting

With the theme of "Warm Winter Parent-Child Sports Meeting", Damanbie Kindergarten in Puchuan Township focused on interesting competitions. Teachers divided the outdoor venue into functional areas such as a game area and a rest area, and organized children and parents to play games in random groups. Among them, the "Parent-Child Relay Ball Clamping Run" required clamping the ball with the body throughout the process, exercising the balance and cooperation ability between parents and children; the "Tail Catching" game cultivated the children's sense of rules by protecting their own "tails" from being caught; "Working Together to Peel Corn" allowed the children to experience the fun of farming. These activities not only stimulated the children's interest in sports, but also deepened the trust between families and the kindergarten through parent-child interaction.

Qinghe Kindergarten: Childlike Hearts Celebrate the New Year, Parent-Child Get-Together

With the theme of "Childlike Hearts Celebrate the New Year, Parent-Child Get-Together", Qinghe Kindergarten organically combined environmental protection, art and games. The activity started with a martial arts performance by the senior class, showing the spirit of the little athletes. The dance performance by the middle and senior classes conveyed childlike innocence. The "Environmental Protection Creative Parent-Child Fashion Show" for the junior class made costumes from newspapers, cartons and other materials, stimulating creativity and conveying the concept of environmental protection. In the parent-child game session, "Walking the Catwalk with Eyes Covered" tested trust and communication, "Stepping on Balloons" and "Success on the First Try" strengthened cooperation, "Paper Cup Stacking" exercised the children's fine motor skills, and "Love Massage" cultivated the children's sense of gratitude; in the tug-of-war competition, the classes were divided into groups by grade, and the best-of-three system was adopted to enhance team cohesion.

Xintian Kindergarten: Childlike Hearts Welcome New Year's Day · Parent-Child Fun

With the theme of "Childlike Hearts Welcome New Year's Day · Parent-Child Fun", Xintian Kindergarten in Gudong Town integrated cultural cognition, art display, sharing and education.

The activity began with speeches by the principal and project staff, conveying festival blessings and the concept of home-kindergarten co-education. The children's dance performance showed their daily learning achievements and enhanced their expressiveness and self-confidence. In the parent-child game session, games such as "Happy Sandbag Delivery", "Parent-Child Ring Toss" and "Building Block Competition" were set up, allowing children and parents to feel the joy of collective interaction. In the food sharing session, teachers guided the children to take the initiative to share and use polite language, cultivating their sense of sharing and social skills.

Fengyi Kindergarten in Mazhan Township: Fun Market to Welcome the New Year

With the theme of "Fun Market to Welcome the New Year", Fengyi Kindergarten in Mazhan Township simulated a traditional market scene, allowing children to experience local customs and folk traditions in an immersive way. During the activity, parents formed operation teams to be responsible for the operation of the food area and the entertainment area; children participated in folk activities such as writing "Fu" characters and cutting window grilles under the guidance of teachers; the parent-child handwork display area and the "Excellent Parent Operation Team" commendation session strengthened parents' sense of participation and achievement. Through the "market" form, children exercised their social skills and practical abilities in real social scenarios, and parents gained a deeper understanding of the kindergarten's education model, realizing the two-way empowerment of home-kindergarten co-education.

Although the five kindergartens had their own focuses in this New Year's Day parent-child activity, they all took "parent-child interaction" as the core and "children's development" as the goal. Through diverse activity forms, they not only allowed children to feel the joy of the festival, but also enabled them to achieve all-round growth in cooperation, trust, cultural cognition and other aspects. The concept of home-kindergarten co-education was fully practiced in the activities.

Project Introduction:

The Tengchong Tin Ka Ping Preschools of the Future (POF) Project is supported by the Tin Ka Ping Foundation and jointly implemented by HPP and the Tengchong Education and Sports Bureau, assisting in the execution of the "One Village, One Preschool" policy. The project focuses on early education by improving preschool classroom facilities and teaching aids, providing regular professional training for teachers, and offering ongoing supervision to address challenges in daily teaching activities. Additionally, parent committees are established to conduct training and promote home-preschool collaboration. Emphasizing play-based teaching, the project supplies tools such as teacher management kits and instructional materials to expand access to rural preschool education and enhance its quality, ensuring more children receive high-quality early learning.
