From January 22nd to 23rd, 2026, the 15th China Charity Festival & 2025 ESG Influence Annual Conference, themed "15 Years, A New Chapter of Co-Prosperity", concluded successfully in Beijing. Co-hosted by major domestic media outlets including China.org.cn, China Daily Website, and Jiemian News, this event served as a platform to gather forces from all sectors, promote and recognize charitable initiatives. It brought together leading domestic charitable organizations and enterprises to discuss trends in philanthropy and honor outstanding public welfare projects, as well as corporate charity and ESG initiatives.

During the event, The Federation for Associations connected to the International HUMANA PEOPLE TO PEOPLE Movement (Switzerland) Yunnan Representative Office was awarded two prizes in recognition of its 20 years of dedicated rural development efforts: the "Parenting School Play Center Project" won the 2025 Public Welfare Project Award, and Mrs. Xu Han, Senior Officer of the Cooperation and Development Department, received the 2025 Youth Charity Award.

2025 Public Welfare Project Award:Parenting School Play Center Project

Addressing the common issues in underdeveloped mountainous areas of China, such as the lack of scientific parenting concepts and insufficient early education and responsive care for children aged 0-3, the Parenting School Play Center Project through its 3-year pilot program, takes rural communities as the starting point. It aims to explore a model of family scientific parenting and child development suitable for rural China, providing high-quality child-rearing social services for families. By mobilizing local governments and rural caregivers, the project popularizes concepts of early childhood development, including early education and scientific feeding, to support the healthy growth of infants and toddlers aged 0-4 in rural areas and lay a foundation for their lifelong development.

The project has developed an early development intervention model for infants and toddlers aged 0-4 adapted to underdeveloped rural areas, through a trinity mechanism of "Parenting School + Activity Center + Home Visits", which organically combines center-based activities, home-based guidance, and community mobilization. Emphasizing localization, the project recruits and trains villagers as "Early Childhood Development Facilitators", cultivating "locally-rooted" professional forces for the community to enhance the sustainability of the project. Meanwhile, relying on multi-department collaboration, scientific evaluation, and data-driven approaches, it promotes the building of community self-organization capacity, forming a replicable and scalable model of scientific parenting practice. A trinity service model of "Government + Community + Charitable Organization" has been established, embedded in rural social networks to form a self-operating intervention mechanism. Additionally, the project focuses on stimulating community self-organization capacity and has established institutional cooperation with women's federations, village committees, and other parties, such as regular communication and reporting on project progress, and village committees providing activity venues and recommending facilitators, to ensure the smooth implementation of the project.

From October 2022 to December 2025, the project covered 14 villages in 6 towns in Tengchong City, benefiting 744 children and 2,000+ caregivers. Evaluations showed that the benefited children achieved significant and positive improvements in social interaction, language, cognition, and motor development, while caregivers also made notable progress in scientific parenting and child-rearing practices.

2025 Youth Charity Award: Han Xu

Han Xu is currently the Senior Officer of the Cooperation and Development Department at FAIHPP (Switzerland) Yunnan and Chongqing Representative Offices. With over 15 years of experience in the public welfare sector, she focuses on expanding strategic partnerships and fundraising, and has accumulated profound practical experience in areas such as early childhood development, rural community development, AIDS prevention and care, and climate change.

Previously, she served as a project director in a domestic social organization, leading the team to provide psychological care services for people living with HIV/AIDS and their families, and actively promoting child protection and AIDS prevention education among adolescents. She also worked in an ophthalmic hospital, responsible for corporate social responsibility projects, dedicated to promoting ophthalmic training for rural doctors and international cooperation in blindness prevention.

From 2021 to 2025, Han Xu worked for FAIHPP in Yunnan and Chongqing in southwest China, actively responding to the shift in demand from "poverty alleviation" to "rural revitalization and development". She explored new directions such as early childhood development in rural areas, rural sustainable development, and climate change in rural communities. From frontline research, project design to implementation, she participated in projects including the "Preschools of the Future" project in Qiaojia County, Yunnan Province, the " Preschools of the Future - Love Reading Program", and the "Pilot Project on Enhancing Climate Resilience of the Elderly in Rural Areas of Fengdu County, Chongqing".

The two awards received by Humana People to People Yunnan Representative Office are not only a high recognition of its 20 years of dedication to rural public welfare, but also demonstrate the key role of charitable organizations in promoting social innovation and empowering community development.
