POF Ninger Project Team Study Tour

 In 2017, Ning’er County of Pu'er City was designated by Yunnan Provincial Department of Education as the pilot county for the “Pre-school to Kindergarten Transformation and One Kindergarten for One Village” in Yunnan Province. HUMANA PEOPLE TO PEOPLE cooperated with Ning’er Education Bureau to launch Ning’er County “Pre-school to Kindergarten Transformation and One Kindergarten for One Village” Project in August 2018, which is progressing in an orderly manner. However, cultural building and game-based kindergarten curriculum were developed slowly. It is decided by Ning’er Education Bureau and HUMANA PEOPLE TO PEOPLE Project Office through researching that Deputy Director Liu of Ning’er Education Bureau and Project Leader Luo Ruhong shall organize preschool education and management staffs to visit some kindergartens in Lincang City.

The teacher of kindergarten gave a detailed explanation to the visiting delegation.


From November 12 to 13, 2018, Gao Chaoping, the deputy director of Linxiang Education Bureau, Fei Shuhui and other three teachers, led the delegation that is consisting of 23 people, including Liu Xinrong, the deputy director of Ning’er Education Bureau, and Luo Ruhong, the Project Leader of HPP etc., to carry out a study tour to Qinghua Township Kindergarten in Linxiang District, Lincang City, Boshang Town Kindergarten, Mubu Village Kindergarten in Boshang Town, and Quannei Township Bahu Kindergarten. 


In the course of study tour in every kindergarten, the teacher led us to visit the kindergarten and detailed the situation of the whole kindergarten. All kindergartens mainly implemented various game-based curriculum with self-made toys and teaching aids, and carried out special programs integrating local ethnic characteristics into kindergarten activities, such as weaving, pulp and paper making, and pottery making of Wa ethnic; a variety of experience zones were established in the kindergarten, such as hospital, supermarket, woodworking zone, breeding zone, and planting zone, etc.

The children were fully imaginative in the class, and developed their ability of practice and thought.


We have gained a lot during the visit, especially in the aspect of self-made toys and teaching aids and various game curriculum that are performed through self-made toys and teaching aids. Many of these toys and teaching aids can be used in the “Pre-school to Kindergarten Transformation and One Kindergarten for One Village” Project. Effective support and assistance were obtained for the nursery classes involved in the “Pre-school to Kindergarten Transformation and One Kindergarten for One Village” Project via field visit on different central schools and kindergartens. After the visit, Project Office and Ning’er Education Bureau will organize and mobilize parents to participate in the production of various toys and teaching aids and carry out game-based curriculum in light of the actual situation of the nursery classes involved in the Project.

About the Project:

As the pilot policies of Yunnan Provincial Department of Education in the field of preschool education, “One Kindergarten for One Village” and “Pre-school to Kindergarten Transformation”  aims at transforming the preschool into an independent kindergarten and establishing kindergartens in large administrative villages, and gradually realizing the preschool education layout of “One Model Kindergarten in One County, One Public Kindergarten in One Township and One Kindergarten in One Village”. Ning’er County was designated as one of the pilot counties. After the previous communications, field visits and investigations, The Federation for Associations connected to the International HUMANA PEOPLE TO PEOPLE Movement  (Switzerland) Yunnan Representative Office cooperated with Ning’er Education Bureau to assist it in training and supervising the teachers, who were employed under the policy of “Pre-school to Kindergarten Transformation” and “One Kindergarten for One Village”, mainly in the aspect of preschool education knowledge, curriculum management and teaching, so as to change the method of teaching primary-school-level lessons, thus improving the quality of teaching.
