During the season when leaves carpet the ground, teachers and children from Xiangshan Children's Class conducted a fun activity - a leaf fashion show.
The kindergarten's abundant greenery sheds foliage as temperatures drop, leaving fallen leaves scattered across the campus. Instead of immediately clearing them, teachers invited children from the kindergarten class to decide how to utilize the leaves.
The children engaged in lively discussions:
"We could make small handcrafted decorations for the classroom!"
"Let's bury them as natural fertilizer!"
"Why not create beautiful leaf costumes?"
The final decision emerged: The kindergarten's leaves would become materials for crafting fashionable garments to showcase in a student-led fashion show.
Eagerly, the children collected the most beautiful leaves across campus, carefully storing their treasures before bringing them to the classroom. Teachers had prepared all necessary crafting tools. Spread across tables, the leaves became catalysts for creative discussions:
"I'll make a crown and become a king!"
"I want an Elsa-style princess dress!"
Using glue and the teacher-provided accessories, children transformed leaves into aromatic natural garments. Through collaborative imagination, regal crowns and princess gowns materialized. During the fashion show, young models proudly displayed their creations, the diverse costumes creating a visual feast.
This leaf fashion show not only enhanced children's practical skills but also provided unique learning experiences. Natural materials remain the optimal tools for childhood development. By encouraging children to pursue imaginative projects they enjoy, we foster joyful learning environments. Let us join children in becoming "leaves" - embracing life's beauty together.
