A ‘Bayer- China Rural Development Project seminar’ was held on 3rd -5th September 2014 in Chongqing Wanzhou International Hotel, jointly hosted by Chongqing Municipal Poverty Alleviation Office and Bayer (China) Co., Ltd. and undertaken by Wanzhou District Poverty Alleviation Office. Attendees included: Leaders of the China Poverty Alleviation and Development Center under the State Council Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development, Leaders of Bayer China CSR department and related staff, volunteers and media reporters, Chongqing Municipality and Wanzhou District Poverty Alleviation Office leaders and relevant project staff, experts, Humana People to People (HPP) and relevant project staff. At the seminar, the Wanzhou District Poverty Alleviation Office made a progress report on project activities and the invited experts taught the participants on three aspects:
1. the development, problems and prospects of farmers' cooperatives; 2. agriculture-related e-commerce;
3. Tendencies of cooperative financial policy and financial assistance. Under the auspices of Director Xiong of Chongqing Poverty Alleviation Office, the relevant experts had a heated discussion with participants while teaching.

By the end of the project seminar, Bayer staff, volunteers and media, Wanzhou District Poverty Alleviation Office related staff and HPP staff all went to Longtou Village, Lishu Town and carried out field visit activities. They paid home visits to farmers and participated in the flag raising ceremony, donation ceremony and other campus activities in Longtou Village primary school.
