Kunming Mingtong Primary School was founded in 1955. It is the first batch of "Modern Educational Technology Experimental Schools" named by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. Yunnan Provincial Excellent Grade A School". Mingtong Primary School adheres to the school-running philosophy of "reading wisely, seeking knowledge and understanding", and strives to build an "ecological school" relying on the concept of ecological scholarship. Taking "unconditional love" as the soul, respecting the needs of students in their growth, and deeply explaining the educational model of ecological education.  As of 2020, the school has five campuses, namely Mingtong Community Headquarters in Tuodong Street, Beichen Campus, Fengjiang Road Campus, Fengyuan Campus, and Baishahe Area Campus. Among them, the headquarters of Mingtong Community, Tuodong Street, covers an area of 70 acres and has more than 200 teachers, including 25 district-level rookies; 34 district-level backbone teachers; 32 district-level subject leaders; and 21 municipal-level rookies. ; 5 city-level backbone teachers; 8 city-level subject leaders; 3 Kunming teaching teachers; 1 spring city planning teaching teacher; 2 district-level famous teacher studio hosts; 2 special-grade teachers. The school currently has 3991 students.
