Longling county belongs to Baoshan City, located in the west of Yunnan Province, next to Myanmar with the border line of 19.71 KM. There are 23 nationalities such as Han, Lisu, Dai, A’chang and so on, these minorities count 5.04% of the population.

Longling is a mountainous county with 3 towns –Longshan, Zhen’an, Mengnuo; 7 townships – Hetou, Longjiang, Lameng, Bizhai, Longxin, Xiangda, Pingda; and 1 minority township – Mucheng Yi and Lisu Minority Township.

HPP Preschools of the Future (POF) project established classes in natural villages of Longshan and Xiangda Townships. There are 160 kids aged 3-6 enrolled in 7 classes (6 in Longshan Town, 1 in Xiangda Township) by the end of November 2014.

Longling POF is supported by China Merchants Charitable Foundation and implemented by HPP China since October 2014. During the class opening process, the local Heifer International project helped a lot. Let us all serve the parents and kids in Longling County!

During November 2014, the 7 classes of Longling POF all went through the project phases of parents’ committee establishment, teacher selection and training, class opening ceremony and routine teaching. Let us review the progress with nice photos.
