On Jan. 11, finally our POF project office received the long-awaited nap beds, therefore our POF kids have their own nap beds now! The subproject of Nap Bed Donation is sponsored by Boehringer-Ingelheim China (B&I China) and its employees. The project provides beds to 1600 preschool children in HPP’s POF projects.

During Christmas period in 2015, B&I China launched the “Loving & sharing” donation activity. Employees actively responded and joined the donation activity. Meanwhile, B&I China matched the funding with the same amount of staff’s donation. Finally, this activity raised a donation of 1600 nap beds for Yunnan POF children. Nap bed’s procurement is divided into two. The first batch of 851 beds were transported to Zhenkang and Longling project offices in the morning on Jan. 11. The project staff actively helped the transportation company workers to unload and count the beds. In the afternoon, the project staff contacted all the village committees, villagers’ groups and teachers to carry the beds from project offices to the preschools in the villages. Until now, in Zhenkang 499 beds were distributed, and 52 beds were left for the new spring semester beginning; in Longling, 251 beds were distributed, and 49 beds were left for the new spring semester beginning. With the effort of the project staff, teachers and parents, all the nap beds were assembled, and are waiting for the children for the coming term to start in March.

B&I China’s contribution makes children to have naps in a comfortable and warm place in their own private beds during noon. It is good for children’s spinal growth and development, and it also makes the children feel the care and love from people. Good quality sleeping can help children to learn more happily and grow healthier. We, on behalf of all the children in POF, thank B&I China and its staff for their donation again. Winter is  still cold, but since now, winter is no longer “cold”!
